Tae Kwon Do at Poston Road Elementary

Over 100 students at Poston Road Elementary School have had the opportunity to learn Tae Kwon Do, a from of martial arts. Mr. Brandon Sieg and Mr. Todd Miller of Gentry Martial Arts and their staff have provided the instruction. The students will complete their sixth and final sessions on May 23rd. The students who participated ranged in grade from kindergarten to 5th grade. Along with learning how to control basic kicks and punches, great emphasis was put on learning self-discipline, focus, effort, and respect. Gentry Martial Arts believes that all classes must aid in the process of personal growth, be safe, and be fun. "We feel blessed to have the opportunity to impact the lives of so many kids and glad we have such a supportive team of black belts, who drove from Indianapolis, Greencastle, and Bloomington to assist." Gentry Martial Arts hopes to continue similar programs in the future.

Mr. Sieg, a professional martial artist and trainer, is the martial arts coordinator at DePauw University and both Mr. Miller and Mr. Sieg are on the martial arts instructional staff at Indiana University. Both instructors believe that the people of Martinsville deserve the same quality of martial arts education that is available in nearby universities
