Subject: GMA October Update
DPU Horangi Cup results
The DePauw TKD club hosted its second Horangi Cup
collegiate tournament. Being early in the year, the tournament was a little
light in competitors, but we had a strong showing, particularly in forms.
Congrats to the following medal winners in their respective divisions:
Jody
Butts: 3rd forms, 2nd sparring
Kelly Timmons: 2nd forms
Laura Lempke:
1st forms, 1 sparring
Derek Smith: 1st forms, 2nd sparring
Jessica
Brandt: 1st forms, 2nd sparring
Derek Thayer: 3rd forms, 4 sparring
Katie Roe: 4th forms, 2nd sparring

Testings:
Hapkido Testing: Oct 4th GMA-Martinsville-during that evening's
class time and after.
Oct 7th/9th DePauw Hapkido club--during club time
Lil Dragons Testing:
Oct 5th GMA-Martinsville at 10:00am
TKD
testing: Oct 4th GMA-Martinsville School at 5:30
Other important dates/events
Oct 5th Demo team practice for upcoming
demo.
Oct 7th Next phase of little dragons classes starts.
Oct 10th Fall
Foliage demo at 4:30. Dragons class will be cancelled and beginning and
intermediate TKD class will be combined.
Oct 14th Fall Foliage Parade. We
will be meeting at Martinsville HS at ______ to march in the parade. We will be
working on our presentation in the upcoming weeks.
Oct 19th TKD tournament
in Bedford, IN. Participants need mouthpiece, sparring equipment, and hogus. The
school will provide some, but to get students ready, we are offering a special
sparring package in the pro shop (see details below). Also watch for more
details on the tournament on the viewpoint bulletin board.
Oct 27th TTCA
black belt testing in Louisville. GMA has no students testing, but you are more
than welcome to watch a test for 1st-5th degree black belts.
Oct 31st Happy
Halloween: Students can dress in costume for class and prizes will be given.

Nov 2nd Fall USHF Seminar at IU. Watch for details
on the viewpoint bulletin board.
