On March 16 local Tae Kwon Do students competed in a regional tournament in Louisville,
KY that drew hundreds of competitors as far away as Kansas City, MO. Participants
competed in both forms and sparring events according to their age and belt rank.
Altogether, the twenty-six competitors received thirty-five trophies representing a top
four finish, which is believed to be one of the highest ratios of any school at the
tournament. The Martinsville kids were accompanied by members of the DePauw
University Tae Kwon Do team, which is also instructed by Mr. Brandon Sieg of Gentry
Martial Arts. Many of the DePauw students also assist in instruction at the school,
located in Martinsville Academy on the square. Front row: Jayse
